POPOVICH, Chief Justice.

We agreed to review the decision of the court of appeals in this matter for the limited purpose of making it clear that one of the issues decided by the court of appeals against respondent Michael R. Reynolds was previously finally adjudicated in Reynolds’ favor vis-á-vis Nicollet County and was not properly before the court of appeals for decision on this appeal.

This action began in 1984 as a proceeding brought by Corrine M. Reynolds to dissolve her marriage to defendant Michael R. Reynolds. Her petition for dissolution named as issue of the marriage the two children…
