SPRECHER, Circuit Judge.

This case stems from the opposition by a national bank, which sells .travelers’ checks, to an attempt by a competing corporation, which also sells travelers’ checks, to register before the Patent and Trademark Office the term “International Travelers Cheque.” After the bank successfully opposed the registration in proceedings before the Patent and Trademark Office, the corporation appealed by suing the bank and its holding company in the U.
