Plaintiff appeals a judgment dismissing his writ of habeas corpus, in which he alleged that his continued incarceration violated state and federal constitutional protections against the application of ex post facto laws. After plaintiff filed his notice of appeal, he was released from prison on parole. Plaintiff maintains that his case remains justiciable because he has not yet been discharged from parole, and that his current parole status is a collateral consequence of an earlier improper decision to deny him parole.
