OPINION

LEDERBERG, Justice.

This matter came before the court on the appeal of the Attorney General of the State of Rhode Island and the State of Rhode Island, Division of State Police (State Police) from a Superior Court order that denied their motion to compel the reconvening of a Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights Hearing Committee (hearing committee). The primary issue on appeal is whether the Superior Court has the authority to order a hearing committee to reconvene and to conduct a rehearing of departmental charges brought against a Rhode Island State Trooper.
