This is an appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the District Court of the Virgin Islands, 9 V.I. 144, affirming, on appeal from the municipal court, his conviction in that court on a charge of aggravated assault and battery upon a police officer. The defendant asserted in the district court and asserts here that he was denied the right to a jury trial by the municipal court.
