BOOCHEVER, Circuit Judge:

Kong Yin Chu (a.k.a. Chu Kong Yin) appeals his conviction for making a material false statement under oath on an immigration application in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1546. We affirm.

BACKGROUND

On November 15, 1983, Chu completed an Application for Status as a Permanent Resident at the offices of the Immigration and Naturalization Service. That application included the following question: “I_have _ have not been arrested, convicted or confined in a prison.
