These matters involve the confidentiality of an ethics investigation involving Governor Mark Sanford which is currently pending before the South Carolina State Ethics Commission (Commission).

On September 30, 2009, Governor Sanford petitioned this Court for a writ of mandamus directing the Commission to comply with the statute and regulations regarding confidentiality of Commission proceedings.
