The defendant, Damian Thomas, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of four counts of felony murder in violation of General Statutes § 53a-54c1 and one count of carrying a pistol without a permit in violation of General Statutes § 29-35.2 On appeal, the defendant claims that (1) the evidence was insufficient to support the felony murder conviction, (2) the court’s failure to instruct the jury, sua sponte, on the defense of extreme emotional disturbance constituted plain error and (3) the court violated his constitutional right against double…
