This petition for writ of review tests the question whether or not an inheritance tax appraiser of the State of California, in case of injury in the course of his employment, is entitled to the benefits of the workmen’s compensation law. Mr. Greenaway occupied the position of an inheritance tax appraiser theretofore duly appointed and functioning on behalf of the State Controller and in a matter arising in the Superior Court of Fresno County at the time he was injured in the course of his duties.
