EDMONDSON, Circuit Judge:

Defendants Francisco Sanchez-Martinez, Miguel Martinez-Rios, Ismael Ramirez-Fa-jardo, Manuel Castaneda-Marin, and Domin go Ortiz-Cotoa appeal their convictions and sentences for conspiracy to possess and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute while on board a vessel subject to United States jurisdiction in violation of 46 U.S.C. app. §§ 1903(a) and 1903(j) and 18 U.S.C. § 2. We vacate and remand for a new trial consistent with this opinion.
