Plaintiffs instituted action to compel defendants specifically to perform an alleged oral contract which by its terms required defendants to convey certain lands and assign their leasehold interests in other lands to the plaintiffs, in exchange for a tract of land owned by the plaintiffs and an agreed sum to be paid in cash by the plaintiffs to the defendants. In an amended complaint, plaintiffs sought the same relief or, in the alternative, recovery for damages alleged to have been sustained by them as a result of the defendants’ refusal to perform the contract.
