This is an inverse condemnation case in which the Alpers seek compensation from Clark County for a strip of land 50 by 1,000 feet in dimension.
The parties stipulate that the property, which currently lies within the roadbed of Flamingo Road, was taken for public use on June 1, 1972. The district court ruled that the Alpers were entitled to recover the value of the property, determined at the time of trial, and to prejudgment interest from the date of taking.
