During the summer of 1921, the citizens and officials of Baker township, in Whatcom county, were agitating the question of the building of a bridge across a branch of the Nooksaek river near Clipper. The township officials, with others, called upon the county officials of Whatcom county, informed them as to the need of the bridge and the financial ability, or lack thereof, of the township, and asked the assistance of the county to the end that the bridge be built.
