I. Introduction

On June 16, 2004, Miriam Sabeta and Barbara Colomar filed this civil action against Baptist Hospital of Miami, Inc., Baptist Health South Florida, Inc. (collectively referred to as “Baptist”), and John Does 1 through 10. On July 26, 2004, the plaintiffs filed their first amended complaint [D-.E. 18], adding as a defendant the American Hospital Association (“AHA”).
