Appellant Mark Shelby was convicted of second degree murder and armed criminal action. He was sentenced as a persistent offender to life imprisonment and twenty years respectively with the sentences to run concurrently. The convictions were obtained following two mistrials. Shelby presents two claims of trial court error: 1) denial of his motion for a new trial on the ground that a juror withheld information *704during voir dire; and 2) during jury selection he was denied his Sixth Amendment rights and had an equal protection claim based on Batson v.
