After a bench trial, defendant was convicted of the offense of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree, MCL 750.520d; MSA 28.788(4), and was sentenced to a prison term of from seven to fifteen years. On appeal, defendant asserts he should be resentenced because his court-appointed trial counsel was absent at sentencing and he was forced to proceed to sentencing with substitute counsel. Substitute counsel was appointed for defendant moments before the sentencing hearing.
