The defendant in this cause was appearing before the Northern Division of this Court in Case No. N 57 Cr 8, styled United States of America, plaintiff, v. William C. Hitchcock, filed September 30, 1957, and in which, the defendant was charged by Grand Jury indictment in three counts with having violated section 1001, Title 18, U.S.C.A. Briefly stated, the defendant is therein charged with having knowingly and falsely concealed and covered up by trick, scheme or device and having knowingly made false, fictitious and fraudulent statements and having knowingly and willfully…
