Appellee sued appellant to recover damages in the sum of $700 alleged to have accrued through the conversion by appellant of a certain Jersey cow and a six year old mare on which he had a chattel mortgage, given to secure a certain promissory note for $500 executed to appellee by J. A. Langston. On November 18, 1921, citation was duly served on appellant. No answer was filed by appellant, and at the return term of the county court, which began in January, 1922, judgment by default was rendered against it for the full amount of the damages claimed by appellee.
