Boyd, Jr., was charged by bill of information with the following: illegal carrying of a weapon while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (“CDS”), namely cocaine, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95(E); possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II CDS (cocaine), a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967(A)(1); and possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I CDS (marijuana), a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966(A)(1).
