Willie James Williams was indicted for five separate cases of forgery in the first degree and one case of possession of a forged instrument. By agreement of counsel, four forgery cases and the possession of a forged instrument case were consolidated and tried by a jury which found the appellant guilty as charged in each case.1 A sentencing hearing was held wherein the trial judge sentenced the appellant to four terms of life imprisonment pursuant to the Alabama Habitual Felony Offender Act.
