This appeal involves a delicate issue of first impression in this Commonwealth. We are asked to decide whether the trial court correctly permitted two hospitals to disclose the identity of a member of their staffs who tested positive for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The physician, whose pseudonym John Doe has become familiar to this Court,1 was an obstetrics/gynecology resident working alternately between the Milton S.
