Prior patent infringement litigation between these parties terminated six years ago when defendant Fansteel, Inc. (Fan-steel) granted plaintiff Kawecki Berylco Industries (KBI) a nonexclusive license to use and sell products manufactured under and “related” to a patent owned by Fansteel.
