A special court-martial composed of a military judge sitting alone convicted Appellee, pursuant to his pleas, of unauthorized absence, impaired driving, larceny, and burglary in violation of Articles 86, 111, 121, and 129, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), 10 U.S.C. §§ 886, 911, 921, 929 (2000). The adjudged sentence included confinement for seven months, reduction to pay grade E-l, and a bad-conduct discharge.
