In this criminal case, police discovered heroin on defendant’s person following his arrest for the unlawful possession of a firearm. Defendant moved in the trial court to suppress the heroin, claiming that his arrest was unlawful under Oregon statutory law and that he had been subjected to searches and seizures that were illegal under Oregon statutory law, as well as under the state and federal constitutions.
