T A. Calkins, hereinafter called

plaintiff, brought suit against C. Rodney MacDonald, hereinafter Galled defendant, for the balance due on a promissory note, in the amount of $520.25. The case was tried before a jury, and a verdict was rendered in favor of plaintiff; in accordance with the prayer of his complaint. After the usual motion for a new trial was made and overruled, defendant appealed to this court.
