What constitutes an “apparatus * * * for carrying or using electricity” under G.L.1956 § 5-6-2? The Board of Examiners of Electricians (the board), the director of the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training (labor department), and the Superior Court all determined that a steel support structure, erected by Unistrut Corporation (Unistrut), which was intended to support lighting and other electrical equipment is such an apparatus, and, therefore the law required that it be built by licensed electricians.
