POSNER, Circuit Judge.

These appeals present questions — substantive, procedural, and also relating to sanctions for attorney misconduct — arising from the plaintiffs’ claim that the Boeing Company, along with its chief executive officer (McNerney) and the head of its commercial aircraft division (Carson), committed securities fraud in violation of section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, 15 U.S.C. § 78j(b), and SEC Rule 10b-5, 17 C.F.R. § 240.10b~5.
