On June 3, 1957, petitioner was sentenced to the Illinois State Penitentiary for a term of 10-15 years after conviction of armed robbery. He was paroled on February 6,1964, delivered to the custody of Santa Monica police officers, and returned to Los Angeles County for trial on a charge of armed robbery committed in California before the Illinois offense. On March 13, 1964, petitioner, having pleaded guilty, was sentenced by the Superior Court of Los Angeles County to state prison for the term prescribed by law, execution of his sentence was suspended, and he was placed on…
