I. Introduction

{¶ 1} Gary D. Greenwald and Stanley H. Shayne were law partners for many years. Their written partnership agreement included a clause calling for arbitration of any dispute in accordance with American Arbitration Association rules. After their partnership dissolved and Greenwald moved his law practice to Arizona, they made a supplemental contract to select someone from Columbus who had high-level experience in law-firm management as a single arbitrator.
