Appellant, Annette Theriault, initiated this action seeking damages for personal injuries she allegedly received due to her use of an intrauterine device, commonly known as the Daikon Shield, manufactured and distributed by respondent, A.H. Robins Company. Theriault had a Daikon Shield inserted on March 11, 1974 at the Family Planning Clinic in Boise.
