Plaintiffs John J. Melcher and Louisa It. Thorne, a copartnership doing business as Harold Blake Company, are real estate brokers in the city of Detroit. In the operation of their business *124they employ salesmen to whom they pay commissions. This action, begun on December 3, 1951, was brought to recover from defendant Michigan employment security commission certain contributions paid during the years 1944 to 1951, totaling $5,242.98, together with interest thereon.
