This is an action by the General Motors Acceptance Corporation, a corporation, against Robert L. Dallas, as sheriff of the county of Stanislaus, for damages resulting from an alleged wrongful conversion of two automobiles under a writ of attachment levied upon said auto mobiles by the sheriff on February 15, 1922, and issued in an action against the Modesto Motor Company, a corporation, plaintiff’s predecessor in interest.
