The defendant in error brought this action to recover damages under the legislation of 1875 and 1877 to control the disposition of-intoxicating drinks in certain cases, and afford remedies for violations of the provisions. Pub. Acts 1875, p. 283, and Pub. Acts 1877, p. 212. The particular matter of complaint was that the plaintiff in error contributed to the loss of Mrs. Thompson’s means of support by furnishing her husband with liquor which helped to cause his death. The jury found a verdict for $800 and the defendant alleges error.
