EASTERBROOK, Circuit Judge.
Afflicted with muscular dystrophy, David Pals worked for 26 years as the used car manager of Schepel Buick. Pals appraised cars offered for trade-in, decided whether to resell used cars to other dealers or at retail, arranged for the cars to be cleaned up and repaired, managed inventory and personnel, and handled related matters. All of these he was able to do despite decreasing mobility as the years passed. During the early 1990s Pals began to delegate some inspection functions to Schepel’s cleanup and repair personnel.
