Dissenting—There comes a time when the policy favoring relief from defaults gives way to the public policy favoring the finality of judgments. (Rappleyea v. Campbell (1994) 8 Cal.4th 975, 982 [35 Cal.Rptr.2d 669, 884 P.2d 126] (Rappleyea).)
