Defendant appeals a judgment of conviction for possession of methamphetamine, ORS 475.894. She assigns error to the trial court’s denial of her motion to suppress evidence obtained during the search of a makeup compact in her purse. Defendant argues that the evidence was discovered in an unreasonable search in violation of Article I, section 9, of the Oregon Constitution. The state argues that the evidence was lawfully obtained because defendant consented to the search of her purse, and the scope of her consent included an examination of the inside of the makeup compact.
