On June 28th, 1936, at about 12.35 in the morning, while crossing from the south to the north side of Barnum Avenue in Bridgeport near its intersection with Pixlee Place, the decedent was struck by an automobile owned and operated by the defendant and received injuries from which he subsequently died; and the plaintiff, as his administratrix, brought this action to recover damages for his death.
