The defendant, Vaughn Outlaw, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a trial to the jury and to the court, of assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-59 (a),1 criminal possession of a firearm in violation of General Statutes (Rev. to 1997) § 53a-2172 and carrying a pistol or revolver without a permit in violation of General Statutes § 29-35.3 On appeal, the defendant claims that the trial court improperly permitted the state to introduce evidence obtained from his premises without a search warrant.
