Appellee, as plaintiff, commenced a suit against the appellant, as defendant, to recover upon two causes of action. In the first he alleged that he had been employed by the defendant as manager of its mines, for the period of one year, at a salary of $3,000 per annum, to be paid in monthly installments of $250 per month; that at the expiration of six months, he was discharged without cause, and that for the last month he was only paid the sum of $150, whereby there was left due and owing him the sum of $100.
