This suit was against the widow and heirs of Gideon Myers, deceased, on a written agreement or subscription to pay the plaintiff", for school purposes, the sum of one hundred dollars. The agreement was in these words: “ We, whose names are subscribed, agree to pay the sum set opposite our names, to the North-western Conference of Universalists, for the purpose of establishing a school in Indiana, to be under the patronage and control of the Universalist church in said State.
