Specialist John C. McAllister was convicted at a general court-martial of disobeying a superior commissioned officer and unpremeditated murder, in violation of Articles 90 and 118, Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), 10 U.S.C. §§ 890, 918 (2000). He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, confinement for life, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and reduction to the lowest enlisted grade.
