MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

ROVNER, District Judge.

I. INTRODUCTION

Defendant is charged with possession of a firearm in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1), which makes it unlawful for a convicted felon to possess a firearm which has travelled in interstate commerce. The case is presently before the court on defendant’s motion to preclude application of the enhanced sentencing provision of 18 U.S.C. § 924(e). 1 For the reasons described below, defendant’s motion is denied.
