The plaintiff, James Black, a resident of Connecticut, brought this petition for a new trial under the provisions of § 52-270 of the General Statutes.1 It is admitted in the pleadings that the defendant, a finance company hereinafter referred to as C.I.T., had instituted an action against Black to recover an amount alleged to be due on the pur*190chase price of an automobile which Black had bought from a Ford dealer.
