OPINION

MEYERSON, Presiding Judge.

I. FACTS

This is a negligence action for personal injuries arising out of a stabbing at the Arizona State Prison (Prison) in Florence. The jury returned a verdict in favor of defendant State of Arizona (State) and plaintiff Harold A. Bell (Bell) has brought this appeal from the judgment and denial of his motion for new trial. Although Bell has raised several issues on appeal, we need only address his allegations of error regarding the admission of character evidence and the giving of certain jury instructions.
