In affirmance of a salutary principle in the conduct of trials, § 1064 of the General Statutes provides that whenever evidence offered upon the trial of any civil action is objected to as inadmissible, it shall be the duty of the court, if either party shall request a decision, to then pass upon such objection and admit or reject the testimony.
