The appellants were members and owners of certain shares of the capital stock of the Tucson Building and Loan Association, a corporation organized under the laws of the territory of Arizona. The shares of stock were issued to and stood on the books of the association in the name of the appellant Eloísa F. Leon. On the fifteenth day of September, 1899, they borrowed from the corporation the sum of $2,000, for which the said Cirilo S. Leon and Eloísa F. Leon gave their promissory note payable to the order of the corporation. For the purpose of securing the payment of the note the appellants…
