I. FACTUAL BACKGROUND

Pending before this court is Plaintiffs Motion to Remand. The Plaintiffs are the parents of Jacob Warren Roth (“Mr. Roth”), the decedent, in their individual capacities, and as representatives of Mr. Roth’s estate. They seek damages under various tort theories, including negligence and gross negligence. The Defendants are four defense contractors involved in the modification of a semi-submersible drilling platform called the SBX-1, on board which the accident leading to Mr. Roth’s death transpired.
