Dowling, J.:

This action was brought to enforce the statutory liability of stockholders of the Northern Bank of New York under sections 71 and 72 of the Banking Law (Consol. Laws, chap. 2; Laws of 1909, chap. 10). Judgment was rendered against various defendants including the appellant Kelly in the sum of $1,500 and the appellant Mooney in the sum of $1,100, the par value of stock *298standing in their respective names on the books of the bank.
