Action for $150,000 for personal injuries sustained by plaintiff in falling upon the pavement when defendant’s bus driver closed the door of defendant’s bus on plaintiff’s foot as she was alighting from the bus at Gravois and Geyer Avenues in St. Louis in the very early morning of September 30, 1947. The jury returned a verdict for plaintiff awarding $5000 damages, but the trial court sustained plaintiff’s motion for a new trial (as to the issues of damages only) on the specified grounds that the jury’s award was inadequate, and that the finding in inadequate amount was against…
