Appeal from a judgment convicting defendant of making a false statement to obtain public assistance and from an order denying a motion for a new trial.

Aid to Families with Dependent Children (ADC) is an assistance program administered by the Hennepin County Welfare Department. Every 6 months the department checks to determine the extent to which recipients are eligible for further ADC payments.
